In the inaugural edition of the Badger Engineering Perspective podcast, Industrial and Systems Engineering Professor Raj Veeramani talks about how new information technology can allow businesses to implement innovative new processes for getting work done. He also discusses the role of the University of Wisconsin E-Business Consortium in allowing companies to share their innovations and conserve resources in difficult economic times. Veeramani founded and directs the consortium.
In the second episode, we talk to Geological Engineering and Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor and Chair Craig Benson, who is director of sustainability research and education for the new UW-Madison Office of Sustainability. Benson discusses how the office will encourage research of responsible uses for resources; give students the tools to consider sustainability, regardless of their academic discipline; and strengthen campus ties to the rest of the state.
Produced by the UW-Madison College of Engineering, the Badger Engineering Perspective podcast series will feature experts on a variety of topics, with a focus on how engineering expertise is helping people in Wisconsin and around the world.
