Just one simple word: Thanks!

This issue of Perspective magazine highlights the transformational impact our alumni and friends have on the University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering.

We have some exceptional stories of giving in 2012. Major gifts are helping us infuse the curriculum with innovative design projects. They are helping expand our base of great faculty. They are helping us educate and graduate a more diverse population of engineers. And they are helping us advance potential game-shifting technologies such as fusion. These are just a few examples of the wide impact of our donors.

But the most important story is reflected in the thousands of individuals listed in our honor roll of donors. You are all making a real difference in the lives of students. The collective power of giving is in the opportunities it provides students to study in exceptional facilities, to use leading-edge technology, to receive tutoring support, to practice hands-on engineering, and to help make their years here more affordable.

We can’t say this enough: Thank you for your generosity and commitment to your alma mater.

You are vital to the success of engineering’s next generation.
